What this does

It's a text box that remembers. Type or paste anything, and it saves to your browser automatically as you go. Close the tab, reload, come back tomorrow: your note's still here. No Save button to remember, no account to make, no document to name.

Your note lives in this browser's local storage, on this device. That's the whole trick, and it's also the privacy promise. Nothing gets sent anywhere because there's nowhere to send it. We don't have a server waiting to catch your text. We didn't build one.

Common use cases

Quick scratch space. Paste something out of one app to clean it up before it goes into another, or draft a message before you commit to sending it.

Holding text for a minute. That tracking number, the paragraph you cut but aren't ready to delete, the half-formed idea at 1am. Somewhere to put it that isn't a brand new Google Doc.

Writing without the noise. No formatting toolbar, no menus, no blinking cursor in a comment thread. Just the words and a running count.

Good to know

Because the note lives in your browser, a few things follow. Clearing your browsing data clears the note. Private and incognito windows forget everything when they close. And it won't appear on your phone, because there's no sync, and sync would mean a server. If you need the text somewhere else, copy it or download the .txt.

It autosaves a beat after you stop typing, and again if you switch tabs or close the window, so the last sentence doesn't get lost. If a note ever gets too big for the browser to store, you'll see a warning, and the Download button keeps it safe.

Privacy

Your text never leaves your browser. It saves locally and stays local. No upload, no account, no analytics reading what you wrote. On a shared or public computer, clear the pad when you're finished and there's nothing left behind.

Questions

Where are my notes saved?

In this browser, on this device, using something called local storage. Not on a server, because there isn't one. That means your note is here when you come back, as long as you're on the same browser and the same machine.

Will my note still be here if I reload or close the tab?

Yes. It autosaves as you type and reloads itself when you return. Two things to know: a private or incognito window forgets everything once you close it, and clearing your browsing data clears the note along with it.

Can I see my notes on my phone or another computer?

No, and that's the trade-off for storing nothing on a server. The note lives on the device you typed it on. There's no sync, because sync would mean uploading your text somewhere. If you need it elsewhere, copy it or download the file.

Does anything I type get uploaded or tracked?

No. No account, no upload, no analytics reading what you wrote. The text goes into your browser's storage and stays there. On a shared computer, hit Clear when you're done and it's gone.

Is there a word count?

Yes, right above the pad. Words, characters, and an estimated reading time, all updating live as you type. Handy when you're drafting something with a limit in mind.
